Volume II

As I was on a stroll with my dearest sisters along with our new found officer friend, Mr. Wickham, we had the pleasure of happening upon Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley’s company. Mr. Bingley invited us all to his ball, and I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of dancing again with him. We all kindly accepted and told them of our excitement.
When the ball came, and I saw Mr. Bingley, my heart jumped and I felt my face becoming blush from his sheer handsomeness. We danced all night and I began to think that perhaps there could be a future for us.

My family received a letter from a, Mr. Collins, who is apparently our cousin and the heir to my fathers wealth and estate. He stayed with us for a while and to our surprise, asked Elizabeth if he would take his hand in marriage! She proudly declined which I believe showed her true strength as a woman… I’m not sure I could have been brave enough to do the same if I had been the one he asked.
More bad news came to our family… My hopes of having a future with Mr. Bingley were soon washed down the drain when he left without even a goodbye. I assured my family that I was ok, although I must say I now know how a broken heart feels.
Nevertheless, I shall go on with life, keep him out of my thoughts, and due my duty as a woman.
